SPARQLMotion is fully compliant with W3C standard SPARQL

“SPARQLMotion puts the power of data integration where it should be - in the hands of end users and domain experts,” said Holger Knublauch, vice president, product development, TopQuadrant. “Until now, it has been necessary for application developers to predict and hardwire the data sources, searches, queries and reports that end users will utilize within a particular application. This approach has significantly limited the output from Business Intelligence and other enterprise applications. SPARQLMotion gives end-users the freedom to dynamically merge data sources as needed and create one-of-a kind applications.”

SPARQLMotion is a visual scripting language for semantic data processing. Visual scripts can be displayed and edited graphically by people without programming skills. End users can chain together simple processing steps to form complex processing pipelines. Data processing pipelines can be used to merge, search, query and mash-up data as well as to create a report or information dashboard.

Furthermore, SPARQLMotion is supported by TopBraid Composer Maestro Edition™, TopQuadrant's professional ontology modeling tool. TopBraid Composer Maestro Edition, an extended version of the popular TopBraid Composer (standard edition), can be used to edit and execute SPARQLMotion scripts in conjunction with underlying domain and data models. SPARQLMotion is also supported by TopBraid Live™, TopQuadrant’s Semantic application deployment platform. Within TopBraid Live, end-users can create simple applications using SPARQLMotion. For example, an end-user could create a script that takes data from various sources and news feeds on the web and display it on a map. By using TopBraid Live, this script can be published on the web so that anyone can view the resulting map. SPARQLMotion support in the TopBraid Suite includes over 50 flexible modules implementing a comprehensive range of data inputs, outputs and transformations.

“There is great potential in SPARQLMotion as it brings users one step closer to realizing the power of the Semantic Web,” said Matt Fisher, senior software engineer at BBN Technologies and an early user of SPARQLMotion. “With SPARQLMotion, non-technical users can begin to create semantic applications without resorting to challenging ontology manipulation, messy rule creation or difficult interaction with semantic languages. I continue to be impressed with the innovation that comes out of TopQuadrant.”
